VERIFY BEFORE HANDOVER
Testing and commissioning is a project stage, not a final-day formality.
Medical gas installations require a controlled verification process matched to the applicable project standard, specification and appointed professional requirements.
Installation checks
- Visible installation and identification review
- Valve and zone arrangement checks
- Plant and source interface checks
- Terminal-unit and alarm interface checks
System testing
- Pressure and leakage testing where required
- Cross-connection / gas identity verification where applicable
- Alarm and control verification
- Performance checks required by the approved test plan
Commissioning records
Test results, defects and corrective actions, final equipment data, valve schedules and agreed handover records should be packaged so the facility receives a traceable system history.
Handover
Operator information, maintenance requirements and as-built documentation can be incorporated into the final close-out package in accordance with the contract requirements.
Project-specific test plan
The responsible project engineer and healthcare authority requirements should define the exact test, witnessing and certification sequence. The site avoids promising a certification status that has not been confirmed.
